Abstract

The present proposal aims at building added value onto the Chemistry, Molecular & Materials Sciences and Technologies (CMMST) communities by grafting them onto a Virtual Research Environment (VRE). The proposed VRE will empower with e-infrastructure technologies the tools and applications for research, education and innovation of the CMMST communities. These communities, in spite of being loosely coupled aggregates of independent academic research laboratories most likely not sharing a common distributed ICT platform or a common operating or experimental frame, can benefit from the highly collaborative environment of a VRE. The key objective of the proposal is to build, based on a dedicated e-infrastructure, a European CMMST VRE engineered according to a synergistic model paving the way to competitive collaboration and market oriented sustainable activities.
