Abstract

The Erasmus Conference "Chemistry in Europe" (Lyon, 1995) prompted the submission of a proposal to establish the European Chemistry Thematic Network (ECTN). The proposal was successfully submitted by A.K. Smith (CPE, Lyon) to the SOCRATES/ERASMUS programme and gathered together over 130 Chemistry departments from all the Member States of the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Bulgaria and Romania.
